The Model 30 was introduced in 1907 and would remain in production until the early 1910s. It was called the Model 30 because of its 30-horsepower engine. Th T-Head four-cylinder unit displaced 431.9 cubic inches and powered the rear wheels via a three-speed manual transmission. Most of the Model 30 cars rode on a 122 inch wheelbase but the Sporting Runabout and the Gentlemen's Roadster rested on a 108 inch wheelbase.
Packard touted the Model 30 as "The Masterpiece of the Largest Exclusive Motor Car Factory in the World." The Packard factory had 14 acres of floor space and 3,200 employees.
